Promoting Inclusion Within Swimming

We recognise that some swimmers who compete at galas may be neurodiverse or have a physical disability, and therefore may require reasonable adaptations or additional support when participating in events.

Ensuring that all swimmers have equitable access to competition is an important part of fostering an inclusive club environment. To assist parents and provide guidance for those seeking special consideration, we have included links to Swim England’s official advice and resources on inclusive practice within aquatics clubs:

Inclusion in Swimming

Advice on supporting neurodivergent

By working together, we can ensure that every swimmer is supported to participate fully and achieve their potential in a positive and inclusive environment.

Elmbridge Phoenix is also taking part in Regional Para-Swimming Training.

The next regional para development day for athletes in the South East will be taking place at ACS International School in Cobham on Sunday 7th June 2026. The development day is open for swimmers aged 9+ who are working towards classification; they must be training regularly and able to complete 100m or more across multiple strokes to complete the observation set and be put forward for classification.
