WEDNESDAY Swim Xcel 7.30-9pm
THURSDAY Swim Xcel 6.30-8pm
FRIDAY Swim Xcel 7-8.30pm
SUNDAY Land Training  Xcel (Studio) 5-5.50pm
SUNDAY Swim Xcel 6-8pm

 

Squad Details:

  • Up to 10.25h swimming per week + 50min land training.
  • Up to 6 swim sessions per week + 1 land training.
  • Competing at L1-4 meets.
  • High level of commitment and attendance required.
  • Targeting County and Regional competitions.
  • Minimum target attendance of 75%.

 

General considerations for entry into the squad:

  1. Desire to swim at the next level.
  2. Good training etiquette.
  3. Strong technique across all 4 strokes.
  4. Ability to perform base training set expectations.
  5. County Qualification in at least 1 event 100m+.
  6. Achieve at least minimum attendance.
  7. All characteristics within the Athlete phase of the Optimal Athlete Development Framework.
  8. Understanding of the goal setting process.
  9. Growth Mindset.
  10. Age (end of year): 10-13.

Training Set Expectations for entry:

--- 18x100@1:45
--- 10x75 Kick @1:45
--- 400m IM with good technique
--- 100m Fly with required technique
--- 200m Backstroke and
--- Breaststroke with good technique
--- 400m under 6:30

Competition Expectations:

  1. Attendance at the National Arena Swimming League AND Junior Arena League if selected.
  2. Counties, Regionals and Nationals if qualified.
  3. Target meets L1-4, at least one Open Meet a term.
  4. Attendance at Club Champs.
  5. Raced minimum 400m and 200m IM and at least 3x 100m form events in competition.

Attributes and values to consider entry:

  1. Positive attitude.
  2. Show up early and enter water on time.
  3. Excellent work ethic.
  4. Inspires others around them.
  5. Accountability for one’s own training outcome.
  6. Good lane etiquette.
  7. Understanding of process and outcome goals.

The movement criteria should be seen as a guide, where meeting certain criteria points is positively acknowledged by coaches and for swimmers to work towards. Movements may happen with the majority of criteria points being achieved but will always fall under the discretion of the coaching team, in the best interest of the swimmer's development. Assesment for movement generally falls under the following: Technique, Attitude, Attendance, Age, Effort, Training & Competitive Ability.
